SMASH BOOK
I have recently purchased a SMASH BOOK and can't wait to use it.. If you don't know what a SMASH book is, visit Above Rubies Studio and view a tutorial that Megan Elizabeth did explaning it. She has inspired me to use one this year to document all the projects that I make and ideas I come up with for her monthly KITS. I can't wait to start doodling and drawing in it! Thanks Megan for the inspiration!

Live Stream From Megan Elizabeth at Above Rubies Studio
Did you get the chance to log into the Live Stream broadcast over at aboverubiesstudio.com?
If you missed it, you can still go back and watch a taped version of it! If you didn't see it, let me give you a few hints on what you missed. She announced that besides herself, Britten and Cindy will be attending the CHA (Craft and Hobby Assoc.) in California the end of this month, where Megan will be featuring some of her NEW product lines. Glue arts and Paper Layerz by Megan Elizabeth will also be featured. Look in the upcoming months for new and exciting things to come out of Club Ruby/Above Rubies Studio. She also featured some other products from a variety of companies like the SMASH book and has invited everyone to join her in making one throughout the coming year. She has suggested making a goal page of 5 items that you would like to accomplish this year. Should be alot of fun!
As for me, I have received my new FEBRUARY kit and will posting pictures as soon as I am allowed to show them here on my blog. I am excited to have this opportunity and look forward to designing along side of some very talented designers. It is a dream come true and I can't wait to share it all with you!
Check back and see what else is happening soon!

Holidays are over.. but....
The holidays are over and another year has passed by so quickly I can barely remember it... So I decided to try to reflect on the past year ~
My daughter kicked off the New Year with a tournament and a banquet where she accepted KICK's Regional Championship for Sparring... This year in Jan. she will accept not only the Triple Crown Regional Championship, but a Triple Crown NATIONAL Championship.. Triple Crown in both divisions..WOW.. she has worked so hard for this accomplishment and we are so very proud of her. My oldest daughter has moved out on her own and has just celebrated a year at a new job, that she loves.
As for my husband and I, we celebrated in March 28 years of marriage. Can I say WOW again! I am truly blessed to have a husband that does not complain about my hobbies! In April for his 50th birthday, I surprised him with a trip to San Francisco, a place he has always wanted to go. We had a great time, I look forward to scrappin' those pictures!
I am still working on my garage trying to get it cleaned out so that I can create a "STUDIO" for us ladies to scrap and craft in. My vision to have it done by Oct. came and went. If I had a New Year's resolution, it would be to get that done .. but I know it will come in time.. and I will post pictures when it is complete!
Well.. Happy New Year.. I look forward to seeing friends and getting together with my scrappin' gals..

~Happy Fall, Ya'll~
Hallween cards are made.. and mailed.. Thanksgiving one's are in the process.. as are the Christmas ones! WOW.. tearing out half the pages in my address book has really allowed me to cut down on who I send cards to.. in turn making it easy to make and send them! Just kidding.. Make a handmade card and send it out .. doesn't have to be a holiday.. just let someone know your thinking of them.. Don't forget, if you took the time to embellish them, then take the extra few cents and have them hand stamped by the post office. It will save your card from getting snagged in the machine! I also add a piece of padding to my cards, can be flat style bubble wrap.. or even the padding that you line your kitchen cabinets with! ..... Happy Holidays!~

Hot Air Balloon
These cards were so much fun to make because they were so simple and could be altered to have different looks with different color ink, ribbon and cardstock. The Hot Air Balloon is a Michael's $1.00 stamp. The Pattern paper are scrap pieces.. Save those SCRAPS! Add a little remnant piece of ribbon and a phrase/saying and you have a great card!

It's a Jungle out there!
I just finished this cute Jungle themed layout for a friend of the family. I think it turned out pretty cute. I loved using my crimper.. one of those tools that you might have, but you forgot about! The animals are raised with pop dots and the background is stamped with leaves to give it a jungle feel. Hope you like!~

GYPSY on it's way!
Well.. almost... You see, a year ago I received the Gypsy for Christmas. I was so excited about getting this product because I have seen up close what this little piece of electronics can do. I linked it, registered it and had problems with it ever since. I honestly put it in a drawer and put it out of my mind. With encouragement from a friend, you know who you are, I called the help line and found out that there were a few of the Gypsy's that were not properly working and they could be sent back within the first year under warranty. So I am happy to announce that within 2-3 weeks I will have a brand new Gypsy in my hands! I will be able to get the free downloads that my original Gypsy came with and FINALLY link all my cartridges to my Gypsy for good! I will update you when it arrives!

Stamp it.. Cricut it
It is so exciting to make a card that combines two of my favorite things, the Cricut and Stamping. The Cricut allows you to give the dimension to your project. Making the design stand out from the rest of the card. The stamping allows you to personalize with color, words and preferred placement. Adding ribbon or other paper embellishments finalizes the card turning it into a one of a kind design. So, don't forget to break out those stamps and combine them with your Cricut Cartridges !
